How does ai smart grouping work?

Click “AI Group All” and Flocci Tabs sends the titles and domains of your ungrouped tabs to Flocci’s AI service, which returns a structured set of topic groups. The extension then creates each group, names it, colours it, and sweeps anything the model left over into domain-based groups so no tab is abandoned.

What it does

  • Handles up to 50 ungrouped tabs in a single request.
  • Sends only tab titles and domains — never page contents, never cookies, never form data.
  • Runs on Flocci’s own AI pipeline. There is no API key to paste, ever.
  • Domain-recovery fallback groups any leftovers so the window ends up fully organised.

Under the hood

POST /api/flocci/ai/suggest-groups accepts a maximum of 50 tabs per request, uses feature key smart_grouping, and scales max_tokens as 200 + 30 per tab. Anything the model leaves ungrouped falls through to a domain-recovery pass.

What exactly leaves my browser?
Only tab titles and domains, and only when you trigger the action. Page contents, form data and browsing history are never transmitted. The extension talks to exactly one host: api.tabs.flocci.in.
