How to automatically group tabs in Chrome

Chrome can create tab groups but will not create them for you. Install Flocci Tabs, then drag any tab out into a new window: a coloured, titled group appears automatically. For tabs already open, click AI Group All in the popup and up to 50 ungrouped tabs are sorted into named topic groups in one pass.

Step by step

  1. Install Flocci Tabs from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Drag a tab out of the strip into its own window. A coloured group appears around it immediately.
  3. For the tabs already open, click the toolbar icon and choose AI Group All (sign in with Google once).
  4. Use the Current Window / All Windows toggle to decide how wide the action reaches.
  5. Edit the rules, colours and keywords at any time from the extension’s options page.
